The Educator 500 program identifies, rewards and supports educators and teams who create innovative learning projects for their students.

Who They Are

Inspired by the Forbes 500 list of business entrepreneurs, the Educator 500 are Entrepreneurial Educators – teachers, administrators, university faculty – who believe all children can succeed, who pursue educational solutions to challenges in our schools, and who have the vision and courage to be value-creating change agents of education.

They work with business and community partners who seek educational change to prepare students for work, community service and leadership in the 21st century.  To date, 3E has identified 396 Educator 500.

BENEFITS

Educator 500’s:

  • Are recognized at the Annual 3E Leadership Forum.
  • Receive stipends and are eligible to apply for incubator seed grants.
  • Help 3E test and develop new ideas and programs.
  • Disseminate their ideas and programs on 3E’s on-line database.
  • Participate in meetings, reunions networking events, and seminars.
  • Enroll in cutting edge teacher professional development courses that lead to a graduate certificate in entrepreneurial education.
  • May continue to the next level of 3E participation.

PROCESS

Educators who exemplify the criteria below can be nominated or may apply directly using the on-line application. An educational rubric is applied to each application to determine eligibility.

CRITERIA

Educator 500 recognizes and encourages entrepreneurial educators who:

  • Identify an edicational need of students not being adequately met.
  • Develop and implement an innovative project to meet the need.  This project will exemplify several of the following:
    • Document change demonstrated by the students and/or system.
    • Collaboration and teaming with colleagues.
    • Business partnering.
    • Community outreach.
    • Parent involvement.
    • Develop project goals and a project plan.
    • Show alignment with school, district and state learning standards.
