What is the 3E Institute?

The Institute for Educational Excellence and Entrepreneurship identifies, supports and mentors entrepreneurial educators who collaborate with colleagues, parents, business and the community to meet the needs of all students. It is an initiative of the College of Education of West Chester University of PA. By becoming part of 3E you can be on the cutting edge of professional development and among other creative educators who think outside the box.

What programs does 3E have?

We offer a unique teacher professional development model comprised of Educator 500 recognition and best practices, five graduate level Summer Institutes, a digital and live 3E community, 3E Ambassadors leadership program, and seed grants.

How will 3E help me be a better teacher?

You can take professional development courses that are exciting, challenging, hands on and relevant. An ongoing support and mentoring community will open to you as you get involved with 3E. You will make contacts with potential business and community partners for your projects and school. Seed grants for projects and other opportunities will be available. You will get to know other educators from other schools who share your perspective and enthusiasm about teaching and who are entrepreneurial change agents. With 3E you can pursue higher levels of professional development and experience.

What is an Educator 500?

Educator 500’s are those who collaborate with colleagues, parents, businesses, community organizations and others to plan, implement and assess creative school and class projects that help students become excited about the world they live in, their own futures, and learning. Teachers, principals, specialists and others involved in education, singly or in teams, can apply for Educator 500 by completing a form describing the project. Can 3E help me get a grant for a project I have implemented?

Yes. After you are recognized as an Educator 500 or after you have taken a 3E Summer Institute, you may apply for a 3E Incubator Seed Grant. Our business partners help us provide these project grants of up to $2,000 each. For an application form click here.
